  9.      I had trouble with a great program, EASY JACKET, on LS 128 #15.  When
  10. printing a loaded file with a Xetec Super Graphix interface I got a messed
  11. up screen.  Can Marshall Cook, the author, help?

  16. LS 128:  You bet Marshall can.  I sent him your letter and he wrote back
  17. with this seven-step way around the problem.

  19.  (1) Load your jacket and select Review/Edit
  20.  (2) Choose Printer Selection
  21.  (3) Pick Normal Mode
  22.  (4) Pick Yes at the Current Printer Driver screen
  23.  (5) Choose Elite and you'll go back to the Review/Edit Menu
  24.  (6) Choose Printer Selection again
  25.  (7) Pick Xetec Super Graphix
  26.  
  27. Only users who use the Xetec Super Grafix option will encounter the bug.

  32.      A reader was having trouble with his 80-column screen shifting to the
  33. left when scrolling through text screens.  I also had the problem.  I
  34. experimented and found that if I turned on the computer with the 40/80
  35. DISPLAY button up THEN switched it later, the problem showed up.  If I
  36. turned on the computer with the 40/80 DISPLAY down, I never had the problem.

  41. LS 128:  I never thought about it before, but my 40/80 DISPLAY button has
  42. been down ever since I bought my C-128D three or four years ago.  I've never
  43. touched the TAB, ALT, CAPS LOCK, or LINE FEED buttons either.  Are these
  44. keys good for anything?  If anyone wants to write an article about how these
  45. keys can be used in a truly beneficial way, I'd be happy to put it in Zero
  46. Page.  Thanks, Larry.

  51.      I had a frustrating experience with LOADSTAR LIBRARY 128.  I replaced
  52. it with the new version on LS 128 #14 and when #15 came along, it would not
  53. append.  Finally with #16 I discovered that the problem was my WarpSpeed
  54. cartridge!  I plan to disconnect my WarpSpeed cartridge when I use the 128
  55. mode from now on.

  60. LS 128: Don't go overboard, George.  WarpSpeed is still the best cartridge
  61. for the 128 mode, even with all its incompatibilities.  I recommend that you
  62. use WS but suspect it FIRST when a problem occurs.  When it first came out
  63. we were astounded at its speed and handy features but as problems with
  64. programs popped up, our opinion cooled.  We decided that the problems were
  65. in WarpSpeed, not in the programs, since some things that WS choked on were
  66. ordinary programming techniques.

  68. The most compatible speedup device for the 128, in our opinion, is JiffyDOS.
  69. It's a chip, not a cartridge.  I can guarantee that everything on LS 128 is
  70. compatible with JiffyDOS because my JiffyDOS is enabled ALL of the time.
