- Dear LOADSTAR 128,
-
- I had trouble with a great program, EASY JACKET, on LS 128 #15. When
- printing a loaded file with a Xetec Super Graphix interface I got a messed
- up screen. Can Marshall Cook, the author, help?

-
- LS 128: You bet Marshall can. I sent him your letter and he wrote back
- with this seven-step way around the problem.
-
- (1) Load your jacket and select Review/Edit
- (2) Choose Printer Selection
- (3) Pick Normal Mode
- (4) Pick Yes at the Current Printer Driver screen
- (5) Choose Elite and you'll go back to the Review/Edit Menu
- (6) Choose Printer Selection again
- (7) Pick Xetec Super Graphix
-
- Only users who use the Xetec Super Grafix option will encounter the bug.

- Dear LOADSTAR 128,
-
- A reader was having trouble with his 80-column screen shifting to the
- left when scrolling through text screens. I also had the problem. I
- experimented and found that if I turned on the computer with the 40/80
- DISPLAY button up THEN switched it later, the problem showed up. If I
- turned on the computer with the 40/80 DISPLAY down, I never had the problem.

-
- LS 128: I never thought about it before, but my 40/80 DISPLAY button has
- been down ever since I bought my C-128D three or four years ago. I've never
- touched the TAB, ALT, CAPS LOCK, or LINE FEED buttons either. Are these
- keys good for anything? If anyone wants to write an article about how these
- keys can be used in a truly beneficial way, I'd be happy to put it in Zero
- Page. Thanks, Larry.

- Dear LOADSTAR 128,
-
- I had a frustrating experience with LOADSTAR LIBRARY 128. I replaced
- it with the new version on LS 128 #14 and when #15 came along, it would not
- append. Finally with #16 I discovered that the problem was my WarpSpeed
- cartridge! I plan to disconnect my WarpSpeed cartridge when I use the 128
- mode from now on.

-
- LS 128: Don't go overboard, George. WarpSpeed is still the best cartridge
- for the 128 mode, even with all its incompatibilities. I recommend that you
- use WS but suspect it FIRST when a problem occurs. When it first came out
- we were astounded at its speed and handy features but as problems with
- programs popped up, our opinion cooled. We decided that the problems were
- in WarpSpeed, not in the programs, since some things that WS choked on were
- ordinary programming techniques.
-
- The most compatible speedup device for the 128, in our opinion, is JiffyDOS.
- It's a chip, not a cartridge. I can guarantee that everything on LS 128 is
- compatible with JiffyDOS because my JiffyDOS is enabled ALL of the time.
